Excerpt from the book.
8th of June I gave myself the challenge to write 50 compositions, in the time between 9th and 30th of June. I did the maths and it showed that I would have to write 2,38 songs a day. The inspiration simply came from an inner urge to compose more. Around the beginning of June I started getting into the music John Zorn and became fascinated by his compositional approach to the Masada books. All the songs in this book are written with a small to medium ensemble in mind. The songs are free to interpretation of the players themselves, as there is no right way of playing these. Many of the tunes doesn’t have a set metronome marking, so it is up to the performers to decide the tempo. In addition to the 50 compositions of the 3 weeks, some favourites from the past has been added.
